Stephen M. Shea has developed and directed wildlife and land management activities for JOE since joining the company in May 1998. He has served as a professional certified wildlife biologist for over 20 years in Florida's Great Northwest. From 1986 to 1991 he was the assistant regional wildlife biologist for the Northwest Region for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. He also directed the wildlife management and research programs for Tyndall Air Force Base from 1991 to 1998.
Shea has served on many local, state and national wildlife advisory, stakeholder and governing boards. He was appointed by Florida Governor Lawton Chiles to the Nongame Wildlife Advisory Council from 1997 to 2001.
He presently serves on the Board of Directors for the Future of Hunting in Florida, Board of Advisors for the Quality Deer Management Association and the Deer Committee of the Southeast Section of the Wildlife Society.
He is an alumnus of the University of Vermont and the University of Georgia where he received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Wildlife Biology.
